Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday 9

Happy Friday! So ready for the weekend, when I plan on spending some quality time reading. 'Cause I already did my Xmas shopping. Jealous? Hahhaa. Anyway, it's time for Book Blogger Hop and Follow Friday.

Book Blogger Hop

This week’s Hop question is: What is the thing you like most about reading book blogs? Is it the reviews, author guest posts, articles, giveaways, or something else entirely?

If ANYONE says giveaways...sigh. For me, it's the camaraderie. I love conversing with people who share my same interests and actually have a chance of following along with me when I say "It's like in that one book where they did that one thing." Plus, I've found some great books from their recommendations that I would never have found on my own.

And, Follow Friday is asking: Do you have an undernoticed author that you think we should all know about?

What about that one girl whose books I've seen around a lot lately? They're about misunderstandings and romance and all that. I think they're based on that Keira Knightley movie that came out a few years ago maybe? Her name's Austen or something...

Gosh, just kidding.

To be serious, I've loved everything I've read by Justina Chen Headley. But I don't hear many people talking about her books. You should seriously check them out.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I haven't heard of her before - however definitely trust your recommendation (except for that whole Before I Fall thing.. but ssshhh we won't mention that :P)

    Happy Friday!

  2. Ginger, YOU DIDN'T LIKE BEFORE I FALL?!?!?! WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF. Every single time I opened that book to read another few pages, I'd end up crying. That book was powerful and amazing.

Anna, I haven't done any Christmas shopping yet. YOu are a machine.

  3. Great pic Anna, I loved North of Beautiful.

  4. Old follower hopping through :) Hope you have a fantastic weekend, Anna!

  5. Hmm. Never heard of her before. I wrote it down, though. I'll check her out. Thanks and have a great weekend!

  6. I feel the same way too! There isn't anyone local I can talk to about my books and I feel good I can talk to people on blogs about books and genres I love! I'm a new follower. My hop is at Coffee Table Press

  7. Haha, I love what you wrote about being able to reference books and have people actually get it!

Hopping through :) I'll have to check out that author you recommend. I haven't heard of her before.

    Here's my HOP

  8. You said it - the community of bloggers in a great reason to do this!

I've never heard of that author before - I will have to check her out!

    -Linds, bibliophile brouhaha

  9. I haven't heard of the author you mentioned. I'll have to look into her books.

  10. New follower hopping through. Hello! I agree that the camaraderie between bloggers really makes this worthwhile. And I've never heard of the author you mentioned. I'll have to check her out.

    Happy Friday!

  11. LOL with the Austen joke. Here is why I read book blogs. Happy blog hop!

  12. I love to enter the giveaways. It's always exciting to be exposed to new books with the possibility of getting to read them.

  13. I don't think I've heard of the author either.

I agree with you whole-heartly on the being able to have someone to talk to about what happens in that book and what not. It's funny because me and another girl were just talking about this last nite on FB. None of my friends really read so I don't have that kind of interaction with them. So it really is nice!

  14. I'm your newest follower!
Just blog hopping by! Nice to meet you. :-) My hop is at The Lit Express.

Come check out our 100 follower giveaway. Prize is an amazon gift card!

  15. Hey just hopping by! =]
Have been thinking about reading North of Beautiful for a while now, maybe I will after your recommendation. =]

Have a great weekend, I'm a new follower!

  16. I am super jealous that you have all of your Christmas shopping done. I have not even started. Sad.

Just hopping through. I have never heard of Justina Chen Headley but will check her out based on your advice. I always love discovering new-to-me authors.

I think that the best part of the book blogging community is the shared passion for reading. I know that everyone out there loves books just as much as I do - it is awesome to be able to discuss literature with people like that.

Off to look at more of your posts. Happy Sunday!
