"Waiting On" Wednesday 12

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine to shine a spotlight on upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

What Happened to Goodbye
By Sarah Dessen
416 pages
Viking Juvenile, to be released May 10, 2011

Another town. Another school. Another Mclean. Ever since her parents' bitter divorce, Mclean and her father have been fleeing their unhappy past. And Mclean's become a pro at reinventing herself with each move. But in Lakeview, Mclean finds herself putting down roots and making friends—in part, thanks to Dave, the most real person Mclean's ever met. Dave just may be falling in love with her, but can he see the person she really is? Does Mclean herself know?

— Description yanked from the fan site Sarah-Land

Let's take a moment for a little honesty. I honestly had no idea what this book was about when I started writing this post.

So it's no exaggeration when I say that if Sarah Dessen wrote it, I will read it. It always feels like I'm "waiting on" her next book! No one, in my opinion, is better than her at writing the juicy romances I can't help but crave.

Bonus now that I've read the description: This. Sounds. Awesome.

What book are you waiting on this Wednesday?

  13. How to Knit a Heart Back Home
    By Rachael Herron
    Publication date: March 1, 2011

Lucy Harrison sells books by day and volunteers with the Cypress Hollow fire department by night. Her life is just the way she likes it—full, even-keeled, and smooth—until bad-boy ex-cop Owen Bancroft comes back to town. Lucy has always been fearless, never scared about diving in to help others. When it comes to risking her heart, however, she realizes she's absolutely terrified.

In a small town like Cypress Hollow, everyone knows your business—and there is nowhere to hide. Then Lucy and Owen are thrown together by the discovery of the lost work of local legend, knitting guru Eliza Carpenter. Now Owen, adrift and struggling to redefine himself as a civilian without a badge, will have to learn how to open himself up to life's new possibilities . . . while Lucy decides just how much of herself she's willing to gamble on love.

  14. Admittedly, I have never read a Sarah Dessen book. *ducks from thrown books* :P I've been meaning to read a couple of them, since tons of bloggers hold her in such high esteem. I even bought The Truth About Forever (it was in the bargain books). But I've never gotten around to it. Not sure why. =x But anyway. Great pick. ♥
