In My Mailbox 7

"In My Mailbox" is a weekly post hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren about what new books we got in the mail (or library or whatever) this week.

You all heard about the massive closing of Borders stores nationwide, right? Well, I went to visit my parents on Day 2 of their 20-40% off clearance sale. My dad and I got to the store right when the doors opened...and this was the sight waiting for us.

Cleaned out! Man, people weren't messing around, biding their time, before hitting up their local Borders. I snagged two books that I'd already read (and loooooved) but didn't own.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver and Going Too Far by Jennifer Echols.

Definitely in the mood for a good reread! Hope you got some great books this week...

  1. Awesome books! Wow, that's so sad for Borders and book readers everywhere! :( But thank goodness I have B&N here where I live, lol!

BTW, your blog is freakin' cute! I heart it! *__*

  10. The Borders closest to me is closing, and I'm not happy--it's my favorite bookstore. I haven't had a chance to get down there yet, but I'm going tomorrow, and I'm thinking there won't be a lot for me to pick from. My boss went to a Borders in a nearby town that's closing, and she told me they didn't have much new stuff. I guess if there's not a lot when I go tomorrow, I'll be spending my gift cards on their website.

Delirium is awesome--one of my favorite reads so far this year. I hope you like it!

  11. The only Borders I know of is making it, so no sales but another bookstore stays open! I got Delirium tonight though. I wasn't going to get it because of all the hype, but I actually think it sounds really good.

  12. AHH ~ Going Too Far (!!) I have a much loved copy of that book on my shlef ~ it's a definite re-read re-read kinda book.

And Delirium. sigh. I still haven't read it but I'm pretty much dying to get a copy...

And I like the book shelves pic. those poor lovely ravaged shelves :( Nothing near me is closing down ~ which is god I guess, but I'd still LOVE it if my local had, you know, a non-closing down sale :)
