We all want to be remembered. Charlotte's destiny is to be Forgotten... Charlotte’s best friend thinks Charlotte might be psychic. Her boyfriend thinks she’s cheating on him. But Charlotte knows what’s really wrong: She is one of the Forgotten, a kind of angel on earth, who feels the Need—a powerful, uncontrollable draw to help someone, usually a stranger.

But Charlotte never wanted this responsibility. What she wants is to help her best friend, whose life is spiraling out of control. She wants to lie in her boyfriend's arms forever. But as the Need grows stronger, it begins to take a dangerous toll on Charlotte. And who she was, is, and will become--her mark on this earth, her very existence--is in jeopardy of disappearing completely.

Charlotte will be forced to choose: Should she embrace her fate as a Forgotten, a fate that promises to rip her from the lives of those she loves forever? Or is she willing to fight against her destiny--no matter how dark the consequences.

This book! It just hurts my heart to even remember reading it. I was suffering from paranormal burnout, so it started out a bit slow for me. But then…before I knew it...OH IT WAS SO GOOD.

It was bittersweet and beautiful and owwww my heart!

At its core, this book is about the never-ending battle between good and evil, light and dark. Sure, those themes have been written about for ages, but Suzanne Young manages to present it with a fresh twist and a deep sense of meaning that never comes off as preachy. The main character’s emotional journey grew over the course of book, as did my interest in her. It was beautiful storytelling.

I couldn’t put it down, and then when I got to the last tragic chapter I just wanted to start sobbing. Unfortunately, my husband was sitting right next to me and would have ridiculed me endlessly, so I held it in. First bit of advice = read it. Second bit = maybe read it in privacy!

I’m thrilled that a sequel will be coming out in June because oh, that ending. My heart can’t handle it…

  1. I've heard such good things about this book. I have to prioritize it in my TBR but there are just so many to read!

  2. Yes! I need to know what happens next, too. And Harlin?! LOVE.

  3. I really, really, REALLY loved this book.

  4. I started the first chapter of this book last night, but that was as far as I was able to get before going to bed. I'm really glad I read your review because I was thinking of reading a different book instead just because I've been reading a lot of angel books recently and wanted a break, but now you have me wanting to pick it up right now! Thanks for the review!

  5. You gotta train your hubz to not ridicule you for crying while reading.

That said, yay! Glad you loved A Need So Beautiful, totally gorgeous book.

  8. I SO want to read this book and serious fist bump for the not crying part, I hate crying when I read, so you can bet I always at the most unfortunate times.
