My Life Undecided by Jessica Brody Review

Okay, maybe that was a bit melodramatic, but I’m sorry, I’m feeling a bit melodramatic at the moment.

Here’s the deal. My name is Brooklyn Pierce, I’m fifteen years old, and I am decisionally challenged. Seriously, I can’t remember the last good decision I made. I can remember plenty of crappy ones though. Including that party I threw when my parents were out of town that accidentally burned down a model home. Yeah, not my finest moment, for sure.

But see, that’s why I started a blog. To enlist readers to make my decisions for me. That’s right. I gave up. Threw in the towel. I let someone else decide which book I read for English. And whether or not I accepted an invitation to join the debate team from that cute-in-a-dorky-sort-of-way guy who gave me the Heimlich maneuver in the cafeteria. (Note to self: chew the melon before swallowing it.) I even let them decide who I dated!

Well, it turns out there are some things in life you simply can’t choose or have chosen for you—like who you fall in love with. And now everything’s more screwed up than ever.

But don’t take my word for it. Read the book and decide for yourself. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll scream in frustration. Or maybe that’s just me. After all, it’s my life.

— description

Score! Another book I’d describe as an “Anna Book.” What do I mean by that? Must contain all of the following:

1. A misguided main character
2. A sweet boy to fall for
3. Tons of humor
4. Hijinks
5. Main character makes a lot of mistakes but learns some VERY IMPORTANT LESSONS in the end
6. Kissing
7. Completely unrealistic situations that still ring true

I just love a main character who makes a total fool of herself, as long as she makes me laugh along the way. And Brooklyn definitely fit this description. Oh, sweet child, I feel bad for you but it was enjoyable to follow you on your journey of self-discovery. Y’all will enjoy this quick, fun read.

  1. This is sitting on my massive TBR shelf. I hope it has the same vibe as Ten Things We Did by Sarah Mlynowski. That one totally took me by surprise, in the best way possible.

  2. I've been wanting to read this FOREVER! Your so lucky to have read it :) Definetly my type of read too! Great review!

  3. How can we not like a book that includes blogging?! I thought this one was fun and cute.

  4. I loved this book too, so looking forward to more from Jessica Brody! Her upcoming book looks pretty funny too.

  5. OK, this is officially on my TBR list. I cannot wait to pick this book up! :) Sounds fantastic!

  6. And the trailer was super cute to boot, too! Have you seen it?

  7. I have a friend who keeps trying to convince/coerce me into reading this one... :) It sounds super fun and cute! I'm definitely going to have to read it soon!
