The Hunger Games Soundtrack

So maybe y'all saw this while I was busy opening presents and stuffing my face with gluten-free gravy and soy egg nog (all of the above are better than they sound), but I just saw it AND HAVE TO SHARE INSTANTLY!

"Safe & Sound" by Taylor Swift, featuring The Civil Wars, straight off The Hunger Games movie soundtrack. OMG.

Love. Some will probably hate, but I enjoy me some T-Swift. And the folksy sound is a nice fit to the setting, thanks to The Civil Wars.

See! I even went to her concert this summer with some girlfriends. Taylor + Hunger Games = two guilty pleasures in one. Can't beat that!

  1. I'm not a Taylor Swift fan, so when I first saw she's be on the HG soundtrack, I wasn't too pleased about it. Thank goodness for The Civil Wars. That's all I say about that lol

  4. I was a bit surprised too when I first saw she was going to be on the soundtrack. But I love me some Taylor Swift so I gave it a fair shot and I love the song. I think it will fit in nicely with the feel of The Hunger Games.

  5. As you know I'm not on The Hunger Games bandwagon but the movie trailer and this song might change my mind. Plus I finished Catching Fire over break and really enjoyed it. Kinda psyched for Mockingjay now.

  6. I agree--I so can't wait for Hunger Games. I loved the song--though don't you think Tay is trying to sound like Joy? (From Civil Wars).

  7. I adore Taylor Swift - I went to her Speak Now tour this year too. Saw her Fearless Tour too. She is AMAZING!
Love her new song - it's chilling yet beautiful.

  8. I didn't think I would like this song, but I did. I really, really liked it once I listened to it. T-Swift and The Civil Wars sound amazing together.

  9. I don't listen to Taylor Swift, but gotta admit she's got talent. I help kids make radio and they often request music that makes me cringe, but Taylor Swift is always a happy exception. This song's great (maybe she'll get herself an Oscar).

  10. I'm also jumping on the bandwagon as one of those people who thinks it's unexpected that she's ending up on the soundtrack. I'm having a hard time loving the song... she's just so breathy! I'm very excited for the movie, though. :)

  11. I really thought I was going to dislike this song. I was hesitant to listen, but I've been proven wrong. I like it a lot. It is a different sound for her, and I'm only a million times more excited to see the movie. COME ON MARCH!

  12. I had heard of this, but I hadn't actually listened to it yet. I LOVE it! I'm not a huge Taylor Swift fan, but I think she's really talented and a lot of her songs are catchy. This song catches the mood of the book so well! Thanks for sharing - I think I'm going to have to share it on my blog, too! (See, you're not the last one to hear and share!) ;)
